Texas will host the first Major on American soil since Boston Major in 2016
Bucharest, March 17, 2022 - We are excited to announce that PGL will organize the last Major of DOTA Pro Circuit 2021-2022 in Arlington, Texas. The largest dedicated esports facility in North America, Esports Stadium Arlington, will be the battlefield where the best 18 teams in the world will fight for the $500.000 prize pool and their last chance to earn points to qualify to The International, the jewel in the crown of the DOTA 2 season.
We are delighted to announce that the spectators will be allowed to the arena, so every DOTA 2 fan will have the chance to witness another Major in North America after over five years. The Boston Major took place in December 2016 inside Wang Theater, and PGL produced it.
DOTA 2 has a lot of fans in the US, and Arlington has a perfect location for tournaments of this caliber: Esports Stadium. We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with DOTA 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great!
