PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 will take place between February 9 and 23. It will feature 16 elite teams, $1.25 million awarded to participating teams and players based on their performance, and a thrilling return to BTarena. PGL announces another two CS2 tournaments in 2027: between February 8-22 and March 16-29
Bucharest, Romania - February 11, 2025 - PGL is thrilled to announce the return to Cluj-Napoca for another Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament, which will take place from February 9 to February 23, 2026. The event will be hosted inside BTarena.
Top 16 Teams Invited via Global VRS
The tournament will showcase 16 of the world’s top teams invited through the Global VRS. Based on the VRS rankings as of that date, official invitations will be sent on January 5, 2026. PGL will invite teams based on their ranking, starting from 1st place, and all 16 teams will be present in Cluj-Napoca for the LAN event. There will be no qualifiers for the tournament.
$1.25 million on the line
The fans will witness a memorable show as the teams compete for their share of the $1.25 million awarded to participating teams and players, maintaining a competitive atmosphere and engaging matches.
The split (awarded to teams and players):
- 1st Place - $450.000
- 2nd Place - $200.000
- 3rd Place - $137.500
- 4th Place - $87.500
- 5th-8th Place - $50.000
- 9th-11th Place - $31.250
- 12th-14th Place - $18.750
- 15th-16th Place - $12.500
Roster Eligibility
A roster is eligible to participate in the tournament via a Direct VRS Invite only if at least three of its athletes were part of the roster on the Invite Date.
Declining or Inability to Participate
If a roster is unable to participate or chooses to decline the Direct VRS Invite, the invite will be extended to the next team in the VRS, following the order of Qualifying Ranks, until all tournament slots are filled.
Visa Requirements
If a team does not receive the necessary visa(s) by the designated deadline, the Direct Invite will be offered to the next team in VRS.
Valve Ban and Roster Integrity
If a player or players are banned by Valve and the team no longer meets the eligibility criteria in Roster Eligibility, the team may lose the Direct VRS Invite.
Conflicts of Interest
Teams and players should not have any financial interest in the success of any team that they are competing against. To participate in these tournaments, players and teams are required to affirm that they have no conflict of interest (including any business entanglement such as shared management, shared ownership of entities, licensing, and loans) with any other participating team or its players.
A NEW ADDITION TO THE PGL RULE BOOK
A team will be denied an invitation if they accepted the invite for, but failed to attend, the previous PGL event for which they were eligible.
PGL CS2 2027 Events
PGL is also pleased to announce that it will host two additional Tier 1 CS2 events in the first half of 2027, further expanding its presence in the competitive Counter-Strike scene.
