TAURON Arena just informed us that PGL's booking of the venue for January 13-25, 2027, was suddenly canceled
Bucharest, Romania – February 11, 2025—We are deeply disappointed to announce the cancellation of our previously scheduled and announced PGL Kraków 2027 event at the TAURON Arena. Following our earlier statement celebrating the return of PGL to Kraków after a decade, Tauron Arena informed us that they have to cancel our reservation:
I saw your announcement and at the same time we've received confirmation from the Municipality of Kraków that Krakow will be a host city and co-organizer of cyclical event which will take place in January for the next 3 years (Jan 2026, Jan 2027 and Jan 2028). I am very sorry to inform you that we have to cancel your reservation for January 18–25, 2027 (Main Arena) and January 12–20, 2027 (Small Arena).

This abrupt decision disappoints PGL and the Counter-Strike community, who eagerly awaited the tournament’s return. PGL Major Kraków 2017 was a historic event, and we had hoped to celebrate its legacy with another unforgettable competition.
Despite this setback, our commitment remains, and a PGL CS2 Event will still take place from January 13 to 25, 2027. We are actively seeking a new venue that recognizes the significance of esports and embraces its global audience.
We sincerely apologize to the passionate Counter-Strike fans who were excited to witness PGL's return to Kraków. While this decision is beyond our control, we remain determined to find a world-class venue to deliver the exceptional event that the esports community deserves and don't follow a questionable or hidden agenda.
Further details regarding the venue will be shared as soon as possible. We appreciate the continued support of our fans, partners, and players, and we remain dedicated to delivering top-tier competitive esports experiences worldwide.
